Procida, rough diamond of the Naples' Gulf

Procida, one of the pearls of Naples Gulf .
This island is a rough diamond, which keeps its touristic value in the careful preservation, by its people, of the traditions and local habits.

No change, no modification either in architecture or in lifestyle. Those who reach Procida, will see it as it is, authentic, with its houses scraped by saltiness, with its narrow alleys, in which two cars will hardly go through, with its little buses, which hold little more than thirty people at a time.
Rough diamond, Procida, with its wild beaches, a few lidos, beautiful landscapes and silence.
Nothing disturbs you, certainly not the luxury racing cars of the world jet set, not the confusion of the too many tourists sitting at the tables of too famous little squares.

Procida is there, with its beaches of sand and gravel, facing the blue and crystal clear sea. The beach of Pozzo Vecchio, near the cemetery, is one of the most beautiful and poetic ones, chosen by Massimo Troisi, for some scenes of the movie Il Postino.

The beach of Marina di Procida, or beach of Lingua, next to the commercial harbour, is one of the most particular ones, following the coast you can reach the beach of Asino, described by Elsa Morante, in “L'isola di Arturo”.
In the beach of Chiaiolella, a very long and crowded one, there are lidos and bars and restaurants; nearby there also is a small marina.

In the mentioned ports, you can moor even big yachts and sailing boats.
Don’t lose the opportunity to visit the old town centre, the Abbey of San Michele Arcangelo, Vivara Island, and many other places, unfortunately not so famous, but which make of Procida, a jewel of the Mediterranean Sea.

Among the tours offered by yacht charter agencies in Italy, there is also Procida and the other two jewels of the Bay of Naples, Capri e Ischia. An itinerary must for those who decide to spend their vacation in Italy.
