The Pacchianelle parade

Who made a New Year's holiday celebrates all year long!
After the holidays spent with family, you can spend few days in Sorrento! The holiday season doesn’t end on december 31st, but continue until the Epiphany.

On the Epiphany day in Vico Equense, a small village that welcomes the Sorrento coast, there is the centennial Pacchianelle parade, the colorful parade which blends the sacred and the profane.
The walk-on, over three hundred years, are dressed in the traditional clothes inspired by the eighteenth-century Neapolitan crib tradition. Among the characters, both adults and children, there are numerous "Pacchianelle" girls bearing gifts to the infant Jesus, and the "Pacchiane", women who apart from giving gifts, revived ancient crafts rural tradition.

It is a shame to miss to this parade which has acquired the patronage of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers!
Among the many accommodations in Sorrento, we suggest you the Central hotel, a budget hotel, only a few meters from the center ofthe town. Its rooms are elegantly decorated and equipped with all the comforts. So you will enjoy an unforgettable holiday in the land of the Sirens.

Once in Sorrento you can visit also the Amalfi coast. In this case go in a rent a car Positano: you will find advantageous prices!
