Pizza: legends and origins

The pizza is one of an Italian symbol in the world, a true flag of the "Made in Italy, which doesn’t know crisis or market fluctuations.
But how and where was pizza invented?

The pizza was born in the shade of the mount Vesuvius, thanks to the genius and to the inventiveness of the chef Raffaele Esposito, who, during the visit of the Queen Margherita of Savoia, cooked three kind of pizzas: pizza mastuncola with lard, cheese and basil, pizza marinara with tomato, garlic and oregano and what it would be the famous pizza margherita, with tomato, mozzarella and basil, whose ingredients colors recalled intentionally the colors of the Italian flag.

The Queen Margherita enjoyed so much this pizza that she wanted to congratulate to him even by letter, and then to honor the Queen, the pizza tomato and mozzarella was for all pizza margherita.
The link between the city of Naples and the pizza is visceral. There is no alley or street in Naples that has not its restaurant in which to enjoy a real Neapolitan pizza.

Among the famous pizzerias, good taste historical temples, we have to mention the “Antica Pizzeria da Michele”, in Via Cesare Sersale, the pizzeria "Dal Presidente, the Pizzeria "Di Matteo" in Via Tribunali 94 and the Pizzeria "I Decumani" . Moving towards the Sorrento peninsula there are "La Pizza al metro" and "Cardone". Going up to the Mount Faito there are numerous restaurants in which enjoy a real quality pizza, while to eating in Sorrento there is the Pizzeria Aurora!

So enjoy your meal!
